The MXP_MR_2.5G card has 9 sets of ports located on the faceplate and can be installed in Slots 1 to 6 and Slots 12 to 17. The 2.5 Gb/s Multirate Muxponder-100 GHz-Tunable 15xx.xx-15yy.yy (MXP_MR_2.5G) card aggregates a mix and match of client Storage Area Network (SAN) service client inputs (GE, FICON, and Fibre Channel) into one 2.5 Gb/s STM-16/OC-48 DWDM signal on the trunk side. It provides one long-reach STM-16/OC-48 port per card and is compliant with Telcordia GR-253-CORE. The client interface supports the following payload types: • GE • 1G FC • 2G FC • 1G FICON • 2G FICON Because the card is tunable to one of four adjacent grid channels on a 100 GHz spacing, this card is available in eight versions covering thirty-two different wavelengths in the 1550nm range.
